Cigar Sizes:

The size of the cigar is the length, the measurement from the foot to the head, and the ring gauge, the diameter of the cigar. The head is where you punch or cut the cigar and the foot is where you light the cigar. The cigar industry has common names for the different size. Note, in some cases one company may have their Robusto size 5 length x 50 ring gauge and the other will have it as 5 ½ x 50.

The length and the thickness of the cigar may change the taste and draw of the cigar during smoking the cigar. An example is a longer cigar will create a bitter or unpleasant taste at the end of the smoke from the buildup of tar. It is mainly is a personally choice on what size you want to smoke and the time you wish to smoke.

When selecting a size to smoke please consider your timeframe. Even though you may relight a cigar after a period of time the taste profile will change, 99 percent for the worst.
